33b — The Seven I Am’s of Jesus

Seven Names Reveal Jesus’ True Identity —

When Jesus used the name “I AM” to describe himself in John 8:58, the Jewish leaders correctly recognized this as the name God told Moses to call him (Exodus 3:13-14).

Jesus did not stop there though. The book of John records that Jesus used this name seven more times to reveal his true identity as God and further explain what he had come to offer.

Click here to print a worksheet for recording these 7 names and their meanings — what Jesus offers to those who believe in him. (Since the names are figures of speech or pictures to help us understand what Jesus offers us, try your best to explain what each one means. Then compare your answers to the key below.)

My Prayer

Dearest Father, Thank you that you did not send an angel — but you sent your very own Son to Earth to reveal who you are. A message this important deserves my full attention. Give me ears to hear and a heart to receive all that Jesus offers. Amen.
